classroom management info and links here

Harry Wong
Harry Wong and his wife are Gods in the education world. They have a whole line of products to help educators be their best. I first learned of Harry Wong in 2005 and have been a fan of his work ever since. All new teachers or those having issues with their classroom should read "The First Days of School" and use it as their guide. Harry Wong states that if you don't get it (classroom management, rules and procedures) right within the first days of school, you will set your classroom up for failure for the rest of the year.

Fred Jones
Fred Jones' book, "Tools for Teaching" is a staple in my library at home. He, along with Harry Wong, have shown me the importance of implementing classroom management effectivley and from the first minute of the first day. On this website there is a discussion board for teachers to connect with other educators and share their successes and failures. I highly recommend using Fred Jones' book as a tool in your classroom.

Teaching by Design
This website will come in handy one day for me. Teaching by design contains so many resources under the topic of classroom management. They support their ideas and findings with research and believe in not reinventing the wheel if something already works! They have an easy to use and navigate website for teachers and other educators who need help with classroom management.

Education Information for New and Future Teachers
This site is a bit distracting with its colors and ads but has all of their information simply laid out in an easy to follow set-up. They share with you their 4 fundamental rules for effective classroom management and even give you a chart filled with effective and ineffective praise. The use of this website will come in handy for me in my future as a teacher and I am sure many others.

National Education Association
The NEA is of course one of the best resources for teachers. NEA's website not only includes classroom management ideas and assistance but also includes every issue going on in education today as well as lesson plans and online tools. This is always a great website to rely on as it is constantly updated and is an acredited source.

Pro Teacher!
More of a discussion board for educators, Pro Teacher discusses a plethora of education topics that teachers struggle or strive with daily. There are real people giong through real everyday classroom issues and real people to discuss with. A great resource for first year teachers or teachers who are having a "rough year".

Education World
I don't like all the ads on this website, but they do have some great advice for classroom management as well as other resources. I do like how they have broken down their classroom managemet into indiviual topics so you don't need to sift through a bunch of articles before finding the answers you are looking for. Another great resource for first year teachers or those looking to modify their classroom.
